Showcase #31 Cover Recreation (2nd Aquaman Solo Issue!) 1990s

Check out this beautiful Ramona Fradon penciled and inked cover, with beautiful Marie Severin water colors added for a great effect for this Showcase #31 Cover Recreation. Though delighted to see Aquaman starring via the tryout in "Showcase", many fans in 1960 were disappointed that Fradon, (the definitive Aquaman artist) had not handled any of the cover art. The Aquaman Showcase debut, which led to bigger things, used a Dick Dillin-Sheldon Moldoff cover. In this recreation of that cover, Fradon brings her distinctive touch to the Dillin composition. The result is a gem, with similarly fine finishing touches from Severin. Signed at lower edge by both artists. Ink and watercolors over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 12 by 17 inches on 13.5 by 18.7 inch art board.
