This powerful image was not used as the published cover, especially as it reflects panels from Page 16 inside this issue. Guessing that it was discarded at the very last instant as Stan Lee probably felt that the villain MANGOG should be shown on the cover with Thor, so another cover was drawn. The artwork seems to have made it through production to the point of being trade-dressed with a logo, issue number, and price. All that adds up to making this an unseen masterpiece! Created in ink over graphite on World Color Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The header/logo is original paste-up stat & The lost story title "Asgard No More!" is a hand-inked on Bristol board. Compare this nice cover art to the published comic book in the red link above!
