Starbuck Jones #7 Cover Published In Funky Winkerbean Strip 11-10-2013
When Funky Winkerbean's wife, Holly, decided to try to complete their son's comic book collection while he was stationed in Iraq & Afghanistan, it allowed series creator Tom Batiuk to start asking his comic book artist friends and idols to create covers for the non licensed comic books Holly was collecting for her son. Here is the first of those, "Starbuck Jones #7" cover art created by Joe Staton, featuring Starbuck Jones' (wounded) robot butler Isaac and hiding behind him, Moon Mile Meek. The cover was published in the actual Funky Winkerbean strip on 11-10-2013 as 1 of 20 faux covers, to go with the storyline in which Funky's wife tries to complete her son Cory's comic book collection. Art is ink over graphite on 11" x 17" Bristol board. Joe also designed the logo stat. Signed by Staton in the image area & Comes with an 11" x 17" color print of the published piece which can be seen in extra red link above.. $1,500.00
