Gil Kane and Bernard Sachs penciled and inked this really nicely drawn Strange Adventures #55 Page from the story titled: "The Day the Sun Exploded!" One of the linchpin titles in the super-powers revival of the 1950s-60s, Strange Adventures helped to establish the tone and attitude for editor Julius Schwartz's SYFY-based costumed-hero titles to follow, including The Flash and Green Lantern. This page from catches Kane warming up for inevitable superhero duty, with two space-suited technos seeking a remedy for an ecological disaster. The concept is still relevant in the 21st century. This page features one of the earliest applications of the Comics Code stamp (lower margin), representing the rise of censorship in the wake of an anti-comics ruckus. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 13 by 19 inches. ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards "ANY" art on our website! Just send us an email to mikeburkey@aol.com and we can try to work something out.
