Check out this beautiful 1973 Bernie Wrightson penciled horror last page, which was inked magnificently by the great STUDIO artist: Mike Kaluta, from the story titled: "He Who Laughs Last....". A plot to steal a young girl's inheritance is foiled by a ghostly clown who gets revenge on the evil Circus owner. A great early 1973 horror page penciled by that modern master of the macabre, Bernie Wrightson, with Mike Kaluta inks are beautifully rendered. The art is in ink over graphite on Bristol board! From his groundbreaking work on Swamp Thing, into the "Studio" era with colleagues Barry Windsor Smith, Michael Kaluta, and Jeff Jones, and onto mainstream visibility in the 1980's with projects like Cycle of the Werewolf and Creepshow, Wrightson’s accomplishment and influence has been as broad as any artist emerging from the realm of comic art. His work in comics and illustration art is in a class by itself among collectors and fans of the medium.
