Incredible Hulk #365 p 1 SPLASH (THE HULK DRAWN TWICE!) 1989
Though he has been heavily active in other artistic fields including animation, illustration, and design, Jeff Purves time in comics was quite brief. That said, his 19 issue run on The Incredible Hulk with writer Peter David is very fondly remembered by collectors, making his original art for this series a pretty scarce commodity on the open market. This tile splash from issue #365 features an unconscious Hulk being hoisted by a forklift and a nice inset portrait of the Hulk AGAIN in the upper center. Inked by Hulk mainstay Marie Severin, this title splash brings together two eras of Hulk art into a single appealing piece. It is signed by writer Peter David in the upper margin. A great splash page that includes the story title in stylized artistic lettering. $7,500.00
