Men of Mystery Published Halloween Cover Art (EC's Old Witch) - 1976

Known for his glamorous girls, Dave Stevens tries his hand at the ghastly gal of EC Comics in this very detailed pencil pinup from very early in his professional career. Originally created in 1976 for fanzine editor Jeff Gelb, this illustration was later published as the front cover for the 2003 Halloween issue of Men of Mystery. To our knowledge this marks Dave's first and possibly his last EC stylized horror art from his short, but memorable career in the comics medium. Created in detailed blue and gray pencils on 7" x 9" art board. Signed in the lower right and dated, in Excellent condition. Also includes a black-and-white xeroxed copy of the fanzine cover and personal credits page which can be seen in the red link above.
