Detective Comics #513 SPLASH (BATMAN & TWO-FACE SQUARE OFF!) 1981

Check out this strong 1981 Don Newton penciled and Frank Chiarmonte inked splash featuring a huge image of Batman from this 1981 issue as we find out that Two-Face is keeping Batman a prisoner in a cell, but the Dark Knight lucks out when Harvey keeps flipping a coin to determine if the Caped Crusader should live or die. Two-Face has been a foe of Batman for 80 years, making his debut in Detective Comics #66 (1942). He was District Attorney Harvey Dent until a mobster threw acid onto his face during a trial, burning one half of it while also triggering something that turned Harvey from a good man into one of Batman's greatest foes. Two-Face appeared several times during the Golden Age, but went into limbo when the Comics Code Authority began and Harvey was considered to be too gruesome. When the Code lightened up a bit in 1971, Dent returned in Batman #234 and he's been an unstable presence in the heroes life ever since. Many of the great Batman stories across media show the early years of the hero when he works with Dent prior to his transformation into the monster villain.
