Check out the detail on this Wally Wood penciled and inked Valor #5 Cover from 1955! Just a STUNNING scene here with just the second title in EC's "New Direction" with the historically-themed adventure series: "Valor". Wally Wood's exciting cover scene here is a true treat and a great example of what this revered artist could do. Wally Wood's spectacular Valor covers are high on the want-list of his many EC fan-addicts, and he only produced three covers! Rendered twice-up scale on Bristol board with an image area of 13.5 by 19.5 inches. There are some key lines in drawn red ink with blue pencil shading also on the 3 drawn warriors on left side of the cover. The logo and header dressing are original stat paste-ups. There is glue residue near some of them. Also included is the hand-colored silverprint color guide produced and drawn by Marie Severin, which can be seen in the extra red link above.
