Published the SAME EXACT MONTH AS Fantastic Four #1, this Story shows Stan Lee's obsessive interest in teenage heroes (a smart youth-marketing ploy, that) finds a transformed schoolkid defying an alien invasion. This resourceful youngster is a one-shot character, but he would reflect in turn upon Johnny "Human Torch" Storm and Peter "Spider-Man" Parker as those juveniles developed into linchpins of a coherent Marvel Universe. Such self-contained stories as this one ("I Entered the Dimension of Doom!") are emblematic of Marvel's giant-monster phase of funnybooks, which of course overlapped with the emerging "Marvel Age" (Stan Lee's grandiose term) of extravagant heroism. The present selection also finds Kirby and Ayers, Marvel's gold-standard pencils-and-inks team, poised for the inevitable bigger prospects, lending epic-scale dynamism to the simplistic plotting of Lee and his brother, Larry Leiber. Compare this great page to the published comic book page in the red link above. SILVER AGE KIRBY / AYERS Marvel pages are VERY hard to find in the hobby these days, so don't miss out on a great opportunity here to own this nice SILVER AGE page right here! ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards "ANY" art on our website! Just send us an email to mikeburkey@aol.com and we can try to work something out.
