In the 1970s, Nick Cardy supplied DC with most of their best cover images, handing in exciting artwork in virtually any genre they thorror line, a classic image of something horrible lurking in the basement as an unsuspecting victim coming down the stairs. The mysterious tendrils radiating out from this bizarre creature seem to pulse with life and energy, and are a superbly graphic design by Cardy, somewhat suggestive of the pop art sensibility of the time.
