Check out this very nice, VERY RARE 1969 Avengers SPLASH, which was penciled AND INKED by the great Barry Windsor-Smith! The comic book gives Syd Shores inking credits on this amazing piece, but its been confirmed through a few Barry Smith sources that this awesome piece was inked by Barry Smith as well as being penciled by him! TRULY A RARE HISTORIC BARRY SMITH MASTERPIECE! This splash is from the story aptly titled: "Betrayal!" This nice SPLASH features THE VISION looking like he just decided to imitate BATMAN, as he holds his cape in the pose that is very classic to the caped crusader! This awesome splash is also from this ever classic Barry Smith story where The unbreakable metal, Adamantium, makes it first appearance EVER in comics! Who knew it would become so popular and prolific to be attached to bones on a VERY FAMOUS X-Men character in a few years to come? In this story, The Avengers lend SHIELD a hand by testing out the strength of this new metal: "Adamantium". It seems that even the powers of the Avengers isn't enough to break this unbelievable material. Mysteriously, the Vision disappears during the testing. This splash features the part of this CLASSIC story where The Vision infiltrates the SHIELD Helicarrier and steals the Adamantium cylinder! Has he gone mad?! Well surely he must, because he later returns and starts fighting the Avengers! Ah, but we discover just why he is acting so strangely as Ultron-6 explodes into the last page of the issue! Just a great opportunity here to own an INCREDIBLY RARE Barry Smith Avengers splash! ALL HIGH end pieces of art, including this one, are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payment plan options, and trades are always considered towards this and "ANY" art on our website! Just send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can try to work something out.
