Check out this INCREDIBLY HISTORIC pinup, which was penciled and inked by the great Art Adams way back in 1983! This incredible pinup features Spider-Man in his black costume with a great all drawn square background behind him! This image was purported published in a Marvel Age comic in 1983/1984, but I haven't found the book yet. Even so...it is signed and dated by the great Art Adams on November 28th, 1983! EXTRA TEXT was inked below and above the image LATER and this pinup was published AGAIN in 1988 in Web of Spider-Man Annual #4 as a pinup in the back of the book for the "Amazing Spider-Man: The Year in Review" where 9 Marvel artist icons (including John Romita Sr.) each drew pinups in the back of the book! This pinup you are looking at right here "PREDATES" not only art Adams acclaimed Longshot mini-series work (09/1985), but this also predates the publication of Amazing Spider-Man #252, (05/1984), by 6 months, and it predates the first appearance of this Alien Symbiote costume (Secret Wars #8) which didn't come out until December 1984. So not only is this one of the earliest published pieces in Art Adams illustrious career, but it is also one of the earliest depictions of Spider-Man in the black costume that would later become Venom! As an extra INCREDIBLE added bonus.... The back of this pinup actually shows Art Adams pretty tight un-used pencils for the cover for Marvel Team-Up #141 which has ANOTHER Black Spider-Man image which ties in with Amazing Spider-Man #252 as the first 2 published cover depictions of Spider-Man in his Alien Symbiote Costume! BOTH amazing Spider-Man #252 AND Marvel Team-Up #141 have cover dates of May, 1984! To say this pinup is HISTORIC is an UNDER STATEMENT! If the ASM 252 or Secret Wars #8 covers went to public auction they would both sell for $150,000+ most likely! This pinup is something that ANY hard core BLACK SPIDEY collector will want, without having to pay 6 figures to add to their collection! Click the red link above to see the VERY detailed Marvel Team-Up #141 un-used cover pencils which are drawn on the back of this HISTORIC PINUP (which is the 2nd Black Spider-Man cover! ALL HIGH end pieces of art, including this one, are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payment plan options, and trades are always considered towards this and "ANY" art on our website!
